Start-up earns its supplier status on new public sector marketplace for innovation, Spark DPS,
offering its cutting-edge technology to promote independent living for longer for older and
vulnerable people
London, UK, July 15, 2020 – Karantis 360, the at-home monitoring and predictive care management
solution, has been appointed as a Spark DPS Crown Commercial Service Supplier. Organisations
within the public sector now have more streamlined access to its proven technology in order to drive
innovation and save costs.
Spark DPS: The Technology Innovation Marketplace, recently launched by the Crown Commercial
Service, provides a smarter platform for public sector customers to ingress trusted and disruptive
new technologies. The Spark Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) uses a filter system that helps
customers find relevant suppliers and focuses on emerging technologies predicted to have the
largest impact over the next 2 to 5 years.

With the emerging ability to digitally combine social care with clinical care, it is now possible to
provide a more holistic and comprehensive view of an individual’s wellbeing. Karantis360 uses
advanced and discrete IoT technologies to keep a watchful eye on the daily activities of vulnerable
people being cared for in their own homes. Running on the IBM Cloud, the solution uses IBM’s AI
and advanced analytics in conjunction with a network of smart sensors to identify and learn an
individual’s typical behaviour. Through a mobile app, the solution provides reassurance to caregivers
and family members by delivering a complete picture of the wellbeing of the person in care. Any
changes in normal daily routine – which could point to a potential problem – will be indicated via
automated alerts sent to the care provider and family members.
Helen Dempster, Chief Visionary Officer, Karantis360, comments; “We are honoured to be
recognised as a Spark DPS, Crown Commercial Service Supplier. For practitioners and carers,
technology in the home can provide the full picture of an individual’s health, enabling informed
decision making that can reduce unnecessary activity – from home visits to ambulance call outs that
place a strain on clinical time to care. Our trusted solution has the ability to do just that, and we look
forward to supporting social care changemakers in the bid to improve the overall quality of care for
all.”
